Calculus Area Approximation Tools

Enjoy the attached updated Stuff You Must Know Cold (see below) and the tips found on APCalcExamPrep.tns Download - teacher notes & student handout are available on TI's activity exchange. Using technology can be a great way to get a visual and compare area approximation methods like left, right, midpoint Riemann sums, as well as the trapezoid method. Although not on the AP exam, the next step, after considering horizontal lines or trapezoids to match the function, would be to use curved lines, i.e. little parabolas. The Simpson's Rule is part of many calculus curricula.*** The files that are available to explore area approximation include files likeSum Rectangles.tns (Download) that even has student and teacher notes available on TI's website or by searching in the content tab of your software. On the website you can even download the area.tns file that is great to put in the MyLib folder and then 'Refresh Libraries' so that the program can be used in the Scratchpad or any other document. The last version of area.tns can be downloaded here. Explanations for using the Library can be found at this video. Note: Any easy to use tool when you have data instead of a function is the Vernier Data Quest. Select menu > View > Table, enter your data - you can even just use x & y as the variables. After viewing in a graph you can menu > Analyze graph and do the integral. Trapezoid areas are found for that area. But the latest colorized versions replaced Simpson's with the key things students need to know for the exam. See StuffMUSTknowColdNew.docx, StuffMUSTknowColdNew.pdf |

A comprehensive 'How To' guide for playing Pokemon on a TI Nspire series calculator.
Hey there everyone. I noticed that a lot of people have been posting pictures of emulators on the TI-Nspire series of calculators. After snooping around for a bit, I discovered that there wasn't a clear comprehensive guide for those who are not familiar with computers. So, I decided to make my own. I hope it will help some of you!
Before you start
None of this is truly dangerous to your calculator if done right. Despite this, please be sure to save and backup any and all files on your calculator before starting.
Also, all the programs and files you need are available for free. If, for some reason, you are being asked to pay for something or asked for any credit card information, then DO NOT continue with that site. Again, none of the links I post will require a credit card or any form of payment or registration.
The main website that is hosting the downloads is in a foreign language (I believe it is French, but I'm not sure). I assure you, though, that it is the right site.
If the instructions have a link in them, the link will take you exactly where you to go.
With all that being said, let's get started:
You need TI Student software for your calculator for this to work
You can get a trial version from TI’s website or from TI Planet for your calculator. IT works on PC, Mac, and Linux.
Make sure you have the right OS on your Calculator!!!
To run the emulators, you will need a program called Ndless, which I will describe how to get in the next section. Ndless requires your calculator to have OS 3.1. The quickest way to check your OS is to connect your calculator to your computer, and go to the About or System option. If you have 3.1, then you can skip to the next section. If not, follow these instructions:
Praised be God. I never knew Japan when it was a country of light, but I have never known it to be as dark as it is now. Silence film ita download torrent full. Although for us there is little peace in this land now. All our progress has ended in new persecution, new repression, new suffering.
Go to TI Planet
Click on the Ti Nspire link
Scroll down to find 3.1 ( IMPORTANT Make sure you choose the OS that matches up with your calculator! It DOES matter whether or not your calculator is CAS or non-CAS. There may be other versions of 3.1, such as 3.1.0.39 or something of that sort. While most of them will work with Ndless, the safest bet is 3.1)
Click the link for the OS that you need
Scroll down the page and find a button that says “telecharger”
Click said button. Your download shouldn’t take very long, but it depends on your internet connection
You should be able to just drag the new file into the documents space on your calculator
Wait for it to send to your calculator
A dialog box on your calculator should pop up showing that the OS has been downloaded and is being installed. It may take a couple minutes, but be patient
The calculator will reset itself and the loading screen should come up. Then, you will select your language and font size. Other than that, all of oyur old files will still be on their
Congratulations! Move on to the next step
Downloading Ndless
Ndless is the program that allows you to run emulators on your calculator. It acts like an OS, but it doesn’t change the way your calculator runs, only what it can do. Follow these instructions:
Go to TI Planet
Scroll down and find the “telecharger” button
Click said button
Your download should not take very long
Go into your TI student software and create a new folder on your calculator called “ndless” (I am not sure if the folder NEEDS to be called this, but all other manuals said it should be)
Open up your downloaded file
Inside should be a folder called “calcbin” Open the folder
There should be a file called ndless_resources.tns” Drag that file into the “ndless” folder you created on your calculator
Now, in calcbin, there are four install programs. All of them should have the same name, minus the file extension. Depending on what calculator you have, you will drag one of these folders into the “ndless” folder you created
If you are using a TI Nspire cx CAS, then you will need the .tcc extension. If you are using a TI Nspire CX, you will need the .tco extension. For TI Nspire CAS, the .tnc extension. For TI Nspire, .tno
Drop your respective file into the “ndless” folder you created. Your computer should say that it is transferring the OS. At this point, an error message will appear with a yes/no option. Hopefully, you saved all of your files before you did this. Select yes.
If an error message appears saying that the OS is corrupted or invalid, then you more than likely have the wrong OS on your calculator. Go back to the previous section to get the right OS
Your calculator will receive and download the OS
When your calculator says it is done installing the OS, you can unplug your calculator from your computer. Your computer may still show that it is sending the OS, but as long as your calculator says it is done, than it is fine.
Congratulations! You now have the ability to run emulators on your calculator! Now, go to the next section to get some!
Downloading emulators
Please note that I am unsure as to whether or not the TI Nspire CAS or the TI Nspire can run a GBA emulator. If they can, they will be in black and white. That being said, let’s find an emulator!
GBC Emulator:
Ti Nspire Os Download
Create a folder on your calculator called “GBC” (or whatever you like, as long as you know what it is)
Go to TI Planet
Scroll down until you see the “telecharger” button
Click the button
Put the downloaded .tns file in the folder you created on your calculator
Allow the file to be sent to your calculator and installed
Congratulations! You now have a GBC emulator on your calculator! The next section tells how to download a GBA emulator. If you do not want the GBA emulator, then skip that section and continue to “How to install games”
GBA Emulator:
Create a folder on your calculator called “GBA” (or whatever you want)
Got to TI Planet
Scroll down and find the “telecharger” button
Click the button
Open the folder that was downloaded
Inside, there will be three files with a .tns extension. Put those three files in the folder you created on your calculator
Now, for the emulator to work, you will need to get a GBA bios. Clicking this link should automatically download one for you.
Take the file and put it in the folder you created on your calculator (the same folder where the other three .tns files are)
Congratulations! Now let’s get some games!
Downloading Games
There are many websites where you can get ROMs for your calculator. I will be showing you TI Planet because I find them to be easier to use. A general note before we start is that your calculator will not accept any files that do not have the .tns extension. So, whenever you download a ROM, make sure it has .tns at the end. If it does not, then add it. Also, when you download a game, it goes in the same folder that your emulator is in. So, let’s get started:
Find the game that you want
Download it
Put the .tns file in the same folder as the emulator that will run it
You’re done!
Some games to get you started
Ti Nspire Software Download Free
Again, just scroll down to the “telecharger” button, take the downloaded .tns file, and put it in either your GBA or GBC folder, depending on which emulator it will run on.

General Notes
Ti Nspire Games Mario
After downgrading the calculator, you will be prompted to install the new OS (3.2) whenever you connect your calculator. DO NOT INSTALL IT. It will be okay if you just download it, but OS 3.2 is NOT compatible with ndless. All of the save files are stored in the same folder as the emulator.
Download Ti Nspire Student Software
And there you have it! You can now play games on your TI Nspire calculator! If you have any questions or problems, please let me know, either here or in a PM. I hope that many of you will find this useful.
